Restoration and Extension to Drum Cottage, Bushmills

Drum Cottage cottage was in a state of collapse and in need of major structural works and this circular gate lodge was totally restored and extended to provide a one bedroom holiday cottage for The Irish Landmark Trust.

 

 

The work involved the provision of a circular flat roof covered in lead, replastering in lime plaster, replacement of all joinery including a curved set of stairs, replacement of stone slab floors together with the construction of an extension in keeping with the style and size of the Drum.

 

The Drum Cottage was nominated in the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) awards in the 'Regeneration' category for Northern Ireland.
